Buying or selling a large ranch in the United States requires expertise.  A large ranch is a business with employees, expenses, marketing concerns, and all the other requirements for operating a suscessful business.  Much of their value may be based on water and/or mineral rights that come with their own special legal and commercial concerns.  Put that together with large amounts of money and the potential for problems is high.
